Kavyasree Thoram emerges second best woman player in both VIT FIDE rating tournaments

Cyber Chess Student Kavyasree T V S showcased solid resilience at the prestigious VIT-AP Amaravati International Fide Open Rating Chess Tournament in June 2026. Competing in a massive field of over 1,000 players, Kavyasree held a stable 1772 Elo standard rating.

Performance Recap : Entering as a highly regarded player with a FIDE standard rating of 1772, Kavyasree successfully navigated the fiercely contested swiss-style classical rounds Time control (Standard) 90 Minutes + 30 seconds (increment from move one) and 1800 below Rating Tournament has (30-minute + 10-second increment format). Incidentally she was undefeated till the last round in both events and lost the final round games in good positions.

Key Matchups: Kavyasree was a notable fixture on the top-tier broadcast boards (such as Round 6). The highly competitive field meant facing players with a spectrum of Elo ratings, maintaining a strong performance benchmark.
