Woman FIDE Master Tanishka Kotia was the Captain of Women’s Team for University of Delhi in the North zone Inter University Chess Championship. Her team played brilliantly in the tournament and got Gold Medal. Other Team members were Radhika Sharma, Varshita Jain, Surbhi, Ishvi Aggarwal, and Anishka Vikram. Tanishka Kotia has been under the training of FIDE Senior Trainer IM Lanka Ravi.
The North Zone Inter-University Chess Championship (Women) 2025–26 took place from February 23 to 24, 2026, and was hosted by IIMT University in Meerut. The tournament featured 157 players from 29 participating universities competing under the FIDE Swiss System format. Tanishka Kotia and her team members were felicitated in a grand function organised by University of Delhi on 8th May, 2026. Watch the video below:
